AviosArcana is free to read. To keep it that way we use affiliate links. When you click certain links — typically the “See card details” buttons or links to booking and travel services — and then go on to apply for a card, open an account or make a booking, the company may pay us a commission for the referral.

Crucially, this comes out of the company’s marketing budget, not your pocket. You pay exactly the same, and you receive exactly the same product, welcome bonus and terms as you would applying directly. Using our links is simply a no-cost way to support the site if you find it useful.

Any link that can earn us a commission is labelled at the point of use — for example the note “Affiliate link — we may earn a commission at no cost to you” that sits beneath our card recommendations. Links that are not affiliate links (for example, when we point you straight to a bank’s own page because no affiliate programme exists) carry no such label.

This is the part that matters most. A commission never determines whether — or how highly — we recommend something. We rank cards and products by what earns you the most value: companion vouchers, tier points, earn rates, fees and real-world usefulness.

Sometimes that means our top pick pays us. Sometimes the product we rate most highly pays us nothing at all, or has no affiliate programme — and we still recommend it, and still tell you where to get it. Where a genuinely better option exists that we can’t earn from, we say so.

We write about the wider Avios and British Airways ecosystem — including cards, programmes and tools we earn nothing from — because the goal of the site is to help you get more from your points, not to steer you toward whatever pays best.

We earn commission through established affiliate networks and programmes rather than private deals. As our partnerships are approved, they may include:

• Affiliate networks such as Awin, which host programmes for card issuers (including American Express) and travel brands.
• The British Airways affiliate programme (run via Partnerize), covering flights, holidays, hotels and car hire.
• Travel and points services relevant to Avios collectors, such as reward-seat finding tools.

This page is kept up to date as programmes are added or removed. Not every product we mention has an affiliate arrangement — where one doesn’t exist, we link you directly to the provider with no commission to us.

Credit cards are borrowing.
