If you run a company, its everyday spending can earn Avios far faster than a personal card alone. This guide compares the UK business cards that earn Avios, flags the tightened eligibility rules and the October 2026 changes, and gives you a clear rule for choosing. Every figure is checked against the providers’ published terms.

1. The quick picks

Best for most businesses: the BA Amex Accelerating Business Card — earns Avios directly and is the most widely available.
Best for perks: the Amex Business Platinum — transferable points plus lounge access and travel credits (Ltd & LLP only).
Best low-cost start: the Amex Business Gold — free for the first year, transferable points (Ltd & LLP only).

BA Amex Accelerating Business Card. Earns Avios directly on business spend, with an annual bonus of Avios based on how much you spend rather than a companion voucher. The most accessible business Avios card — but note the earn rate falls in October 2026.
Amex Business Platinum. Membership Rewards you transfer to Avios or other partners, plus an Amex Travel credit, statement credits and Priority Pass lounge access. Restricted to Limited Companies and LLPs from January 2026.
Amex Business Gold. A lower-cost route into Membership Rewards for business spend, free for the first year. Also restricted to Limited Companies and LLPs — confirm the current fee and terms before applying.

Business card fees, earn rates, welcome bonuses and eligibility rules change frequently — always confirm the current terms on the provider’s own site before applying. This is general information, not financial advice.

3. Two ways a business card earns Avios

The co-branded route. The BA Amex Accelerating Business Card earns Avios directly on your company spend, and pays an annual bonus of Avios based on how much you spend rather than a companion voucher.

The Membership Rewards route. The Amex Business Platinum and Business Gold earn flexible Membership Rewards points that you transfer to Avios at 1:1 — or to other airline and hotel partners if your plans change.

Business Avios cards do not offer a personal-style 2-4-1 companion voucher. If a companion voucher is your goal, the personal BA Premium Plus is the card to look at instead.

4. The October 2026 changes

The BA Amex Accelerating Business Card is being reshaped. From 7 October 2026, its published changes are:

The earn rate falls from 1.5 Avios per £1 to 1.25 Avios per £1 on business purchases.
The On Business points earned on qualifying BA flights are removed.
The card gains up to £200 a year in statement credit for Avios Hotels and Car Hire bookings.

An enhanced welcome bonus of 40,000 Avios after £5,000 of spend in the first three months has been available for applications by 6 October 2026. Welcome offers change often — confirm the current bonus and conditions before applying.

5. How to choose in one minute

Sole trader or newer business? The BA Amex Accelerating Business Card is usually the only route, as the Membership Rewards cards now require a Limited Company or LLP.
Ltd or LLP that travels a lot? The Amex Business Platinum earns transferable points and adds lounge access and travel credits that can offset the fee.
Want to keep costs low? The Amex Business Gold is free for the first year and still earns transferable Membership Rewards.
Not sure Avios is your programme? The Membership Rewards cards keep your options open, since points can move to several airline and hotel partners.

Whichever you pick, only carry a fee for benefits your business will genuinely use, and always clear the balance in full — interest will quickly outweigh any Avios earned. Compare the personal options too on our best Avios credit cards guide.

If a personal companion voucher fits better, these are the two cards that earn one.
